Keep everything crossed for us on Thursday evening when Viking Signs will be flying the flag for Grantham and Lincolnshire at the Make UK Manufacturing Awards in London.
Winning the East Midlands award in October last year was a great honour, but to be shortlisted for the national SME of the Year title is a fantastic achievement for everyone at Viking Signs.
The fact that Viking Signs is being considered as a potential winner of this prestigious national Make UK award is a huge endorsement of all the hard work my team has put in over the last few years, and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them. If we do win the prize on Thursday it will be down to their hard work and dedication!
We believe that our manufacturing on demand model offers huge advantages in terms of speed, service, choice and contribution to achieving net zero. If being shortlisted and maybe even winning this award gives us a platform to share these advantages with our UK manufacturing peers then it's a double win for us.
I’m pleased to say I will be representing the business at the awards dinner at East Wintergarden in London along with my parents, Simon and Michèle Joint, who bought the company when it was very small in 1997.
